Supported Employment
Our aim is to increase the number of people with different abilities entering the paid work force.
Hi I’m Sarah and I am the No Limits Supported Employment Outreach lead.
What does that mean? I’m here to help you in your next steps to employment, whether you have completed Work Experience with us at No Limits Cafe, or if you are a person with different abilities seeking paid employment who needs some support!
With support from our trained team, you will discover and explore:

- Your goals and aspirations for work and the future.
We will help you with CV writing, applications and preparation for interview.
We can even accompany you and support you at interview stage!

Samuel
The beginning …Samuel began his journey with us back in 2020 whilst still exploring options at college.
As a long term Work Experience team member he gained confidence and self esteem whilst learning Barista Skills, Food Safety and Customer Service Skills. His confidence at using the till and and hopping between various tasks also grew!
Moving on.. With his new found skill set Samuel felt it was time to try pastures new, as an outside man at heart, the fresh air of the countryside pulled him! Supported Employment Outreach found him in an 8 week Supported Work Experience placement at Dainton Golf Club! With 1-1 guidance and support from a Job Coach, Samuel spent one day a week working in the grounds carrying out tasks from weeding the flower beds to cleaning golf buggies! His second day was spent hospitality side running Kitchen Porter duties and clearing tables.
Transition support .. A new setting, new roles and an entirely new team of people to get to know was a significant transition for Samuel, however with the familiarity and support of a No Limits Job Coach the transition was a success!
Supported Employment ….Samuel proved himself invaluable in those 8 weeks! With guidance from Sarah in Supported Employment Outreach, Dainton Golf Club decided to employ Samuel for two days a week in a Supported role where he continues to receive guidance and coaching from a Job Aide, funded by Access To Work, to ensure he continues to grow and develop.
Not wanting to lose Samuel at the cafe, he also works for us 1 afternoon a week ( in a Supported role) in the capacity of Cafe Team Mentor and Health & Safety Monitor, both roles that he takes very seriously!
Zach
The beginning….. Zach started with No Limits Cafe on day one and decided to stay for a long term Work Experience placement whilst studying at college. Developing expertise covering hospitality he also learnt important skills to use in the world of work: time management, working as part of a team, problem solving.
Supported Internship ..his next steps were completing a Supported Internship with us in the cafe, whilst at college, which was such a success we then offered him a Supported Employment role as a Cafe Team Mentor. Supported by a 1-1 Job Coach funded by Access to Work, this role gave Zach the opportunity to increase responsibility at work and help others.
Apprenticeship….Fast forward to 2023, Supported Employment Outreach helped Zach secure a Suppported Apprenticeship in Customer Service at his dream setting, South Devon Railway ( choo, choo!) With the help of a Job Aide, Zach worked hard, showed dedication and completed his Supported Apprenticeship and passed with flying colours! The hard work ( and extra hours of volunteering!) certainly paid off.
Supported Employment...Impressed by Zach’s work ethic, South Devon Railway job carved a role for Zach. He is now employed in the postition of General Assistant! He utilises support funded by Access to Work to continue in this paid role and lives and breathes the railway!
From a love of all things Thomas The Tank Engine as a small boy, Volunteering at The Bickington Steam Railway at Trago Mills as a youngster, to a paid role at South Devon Railway, this is certainly a life long dream come true!
