We are thrilled to announce that we have recently been generously supported by the National Lottery Community Fund so that our increasingly popular ‘Social Saturdays’ can continue for the next 2 YEARS!
We have received a WHOPPING £13, 672 from them!
Over the summer we had to make the difficult decision to end our monthly meet-ups in the café due to rising costs, and with our recent fundraiser to keep No limits open, we had to keep going what was a necessity, which we were very sad about. Our Social Saturday events are always very well attended and we support up to 30 people per session who are past and present participants in the cafe.
On a typical session, there will be plenty of games, arts and crafts, food and drinks and just an opportunity to hang out and catch up with friends. For some, this is a vital social interaction and we have seen many of our participants thrive from these sessions, knowing that they can truly be themselves in a supported and safe space.
So imagine our joy when this cheque arrived! With this funding, our sessions are now completely FREE to attend, and this includes the activities, snacks and drink- our famous shakes with all the trimmings are very popular!
This makes attending inclusive for all, without needing to worry about how to pay, which is important in the current economic climate for many. The funding also pays for fully trained No Limits staff to help run the sessions.
It is important to note that without the National Lottery players support, the grant wouldn’t have been possible, and for this we are immensely grateful to the general public for doing their bit to support organisations such as ours!
