‘Team No Limits’ smash their fundraising goal at the Rotary Newton Abbot charity wheelbarrow race!

On Saturday 26th August 2023, ‘TEAM NO LIMITS’ took part in the Rotary Newton Abbot charity wheelbarrow race and raised a HUGE £375 from many kind donations! Our original fundraising goal was £250 so as you can imagine we are very pleased with the final amount, all of which will be going towards the continued running of our hugely popular ‘Social Saturday’ events which we host each month for our No Limits participants- past and present.
So a bit about the charity event itself…..
On the day there were several teams made up of various local groups and projects, all taking part in a one hour long relay race in the blazing sunshine. Around the track they had physical tasks to complete whilst also trying their best to dodge the water pistols! We originally had 8 participants and staff signed up to take part but come the end of it we also had several other No Limits members and friends who had come to cheer on also help out on the track to keep the momentum going- thanks so much as it really was a GREAT BIG TEAM EFFORT and we are so proud of you all! We were so pleased to have many people come along to support us, including our friends at Newton Abbots’ ‘The Coffee Company’ who also provide all of our barista training for our work experience participants. We also thoroughly enjoyed the presence of the Tano Taiko drummers who performed live at the beginning and end of the charity race!
When it was all over, each participant was presented with a medal from local celebrity Jules of DIY SOS fame and enjoyed having lots of photographs to celebrate!
